Isaiah 40:31 “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
If you feel pushed to your limits, speak this verse to yourself over and over again. Until you feel the strength of God come rest upon you.
I’m in this time frame, that’s been stretching on for the last several months, of waiting for a miracle. And it’s in this time of waiting for a miracle that we need to remember some key things to keep ourselves in the mind of Christ. .
There is Purpose in the Waiting
Ecclesiastes 3:1 “Everything has its own time, and there is a specific time for every
activity under heaven.” God has perfect timing. Just because you don’t understand why it isn’t happening now doesn’t mean that it won’t ever happen.
There is a timing to things. Just because you don’t understand the why in the waiting doesn’t mean there isn’t movement or that there isn’t purpose. Oftentimes it’s in the waiting that things in ourselves are highlighted for healing or growth. Remember it can be the distance from the things you think you need that will show you how much more you need to depend on God.
Rest on the rock of his Lordship and wait.
The Waiting Provides Opportunities of Growth
Patience is our ability to remain at peace because of our trust in God.
Patience requires a death to self. It is grown when it is planted in humility. We come into humility as we kill the pride that says I can make this happen better within my timing. Your fantasies are not reality, but instead use your imagination to look ahead to the faithful fulfillment of those promises, and how you moved in grace in the waiting.
Be careful how you meditate on your situation. As Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
I came to a realization a couple of weeks ago that I do not want to look back on this time of waiting and see that I waited with pettiness and was pining away my present by only looking at the future.
Let the Waiting Draw You into Prayer
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the pace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
It’s good to intercede for your miracle. Remind the Lord of his promises, of his word to you. It will encourage you, but also the Lord responds to faith.
As we grow in prayer we grow in authority. We do this as we take every thought captive, crush that which is not true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, or admirable. Praise the Lord and bless him because his every promise is yes and amen.
I know there is a lot of frustration sometimes in prayer, but express that to the Lord and give it to him. Fighting past your frustration into peace is the fruit of patience.
Remember God is Faithful
I saw this quote from Christa Black Gifford that says “If you are not anchored in the goodness of God you will lower your theology to match your pain.” Meditate on that this week, I know I have.
All of his promises are yes and amen. If we compromise our belief in the goodness of God we become stranded on the island of our own pride.
Remember to worship to root yourself in his goodness. Keep on blessing his holy name. Speak to your soul and tell yourself to lift up praise and thanksgiving.
Remind your soul of the promises of God.

May the Lord bless you with peace by every means.
